Jonathan Van Hecke joined the Institute for European Studies in September 2019. His role as LCTL (Less Commonly Taught Languages) Instructional Support Coordinator supports the Modern Greek, Norwegian and Dutch language programs at IU. He also works closely with the Institute's programming and grant reporting processes.
Jonathan is an IU Bloomington alumnus (class of 2018) holding bachelors degrees in French and Finance. He has also served as a research assistant in the Department of French and Italian and the Department of Slavic and East European Languages and Cultures. Interests and past research include modern representations of Joan of Arc, absolutism in 17th-century France and its Carribean colonies, and the poetics of René Char.
