Please join the Institute for European Studies for a Halloween screening of Shadow of the Vampire (2000), a fictitious documentary about and homage to the making of F.W. Murnau’s classic horror film Nosferatu (1922). Starring Willem Dafoe as Count Orlok the vampire and John Malkovich as Murnau, the film asks: What if Murnau, in his obsessive pursuit of realism, had cast a real vampire in the lead role? To what degree is filmmaking itself a form of vampirism?
The screening will take place at the GISB auditorium on October 29, starting at 7:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend: pizza and treats will be provided
